So, for the first time in our country's history, a series which centers about gay love (forbidden love) was aired on primetime TV, 5 times a week, and naturally, our church org. CBCP has to have something to say about the show.

These are articles that talks about the CBCP and MHL.

'My Husband’s Lover' prompts CBCP call for morality check :

The Philippine regulatory board commission can never let these two guys kiss on air
While other straight couples can engage in bed scenes, the gay couple cannot even go into a chaste kiss on the cheeks.

They cannot even show these two guys in bed with no tops, or connote that they had sex!

I really hope this double standard lessens as time passes by.

Synopsis of the Show:

My Husband's Lover (MHL) is a Filipino drama television series created and developed by Suzette Doctolero and produced by GMA Network.

It premiered on June 10, 2013. And Dominic Zapata directed the series.

It is credited as the very first gay-themed series in Philippine television due to the series' central subject of homosexual relationships and infidelity.

The show has multiple continuing story lines that tackle sensitive yet relevant social issues like homosexual and bisexual relationships, homophobia and the society's discrimination against homosexuals.

It also tackles the importance of family, friendship, integrity and love.

The forty-five minute scripted drama chronicles the life of a woman, who belatedly discovers that her husband has been carrying on an affair, but not with another woman.
